I am Riddick's mother.  My husband (Scott) and I have 5 children: Kailey, Tyler, Riddick, Axel and Tenley.  I love to craft as it allows me to be creative.  In the warmer months, Scott and I enjoy riding motorcycles.  I am passionate about helping others, as the reward of a simple smile excites me and makes my day.  My family is important to me, and I absolutely love spending quality time with them. I do my best to take one day at a time, as one will never know what the next day will bring; my son, Riddick, taught me that.

I am Riddick's father, as well as the father to my four other children.  I also have a fantastic wife that I share my journey through life with.  My journey with Riddick has taught me a lot and made me look at things a little differently.  This fact drives my passion to change the way things are done for kids similar to him, as well as how they are treated.  I firmly believe that just because you have a child like Riddick, does not change the fact that you still can have fun. You just might have to modify equipment to do so.  The things that I enjoy the most is spending time with my family, anything involving motorcycles, and building different things.  If something has a motor, or wheels, I am game.  If something can be modified, I will fix it.  If something is easy, I will figure out a way to make it harder.  I love teaching my children that even though technology is ever changing, the "old ways" of doing things are truly just as important to learn.  I am just your average blue collar guy trying to have fun while making a change.

I am Riddick's Memea (grandma).  My husband (Wendell) and I have four sons, four daughter-in-laws and nine grandkids that keep us busy. In my spare time I volunteer at Top Box, a food pantry, and our church hospitality team. We have seen first hand some of the struggles these families and children go through to feel accepted and/or get the help, resources, or the medical equipment they need to have some of their daily needs met. In my life I have learned that even the smallest act of caring has the potential to turn a life around. I am excited to be a part of Riddick's Ride and have a positive effect in people's lives.

I had the pleasure of providing therapy to Riddick for the nearly 3

years he was in the Early Intervention program. Riddick was such a

kind little boy who would touch the hearts of anyone who met him

without ever having to say a single word. I hold a Bachelor's in

Special Education for the blind/visually impaired from Northern

Illinois University, a Master's in special education from Michigan

State University, and a Master's in Occupational Therapy from Mount

Mary University. I am currently a member of AOTA and Pi Theta Epsilon.  For the past 19 years, I have followed my passion providing therapy to children with special needs. I am married, live in the Grayslake area, and have 6 children of my own. In my free time, I enjoy running, hiking, camping, and spending time with my family.

Hi I am Joy.  It was a great honor to have been Riddick’s palliative care nurse, and now be a part of his foundation. Riddick captured hearts of all who met him, with gorgeous sandy blonde hair and big brown eyes. Kristin and Scott were Riddick’s eyes, ears, and voice during his life, whether he was at home, nursing visits, hospitalizations, or within the community. There are no words to describe life as a special needs parent let alone be part of their journey, team, and family.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Cardinal Stritch University. I recently joined Van Matre Rehabilitation Hospital in Rockford, Illinois serving brain/spinal cord injuries, fractures, strokes and neurological complications. For the last five years I served as part of the largest children’s palliative and hospice team in the Midwest and the only one in Illinois. During this time, myself and team supported families medically, emotionally, and by creatively obtaining resources required for these children.

Since I was 18 years old, I have been a caregiver to family and friends. I am married and live in Twin Lakes, WI. I have three children and two dogs. In my free time, I enjoy running, working out, camping, cooking, expanding my nutritional knowledge, motorcycle trips/rides, hunting, and spending time with my family and friends.

I have deep passion for children, whether it’s my own, my nephews/nieces, or special needs children. I love learning new resources and educating families to make life a bit easier to “live outside the box.” I look forward to expanding into this wonderful community that has become my life passion and drive.
