Genetic testing was performed on Riddick soon after birth due to all the medical complications that arose.  They found that Riddick has a rare chromosome 5q deletion, of which there are only 50 similar known cases around the world for the type that Riddick has.  Out of those 50 cases, there is no known documented case that is exactly the same deletion as Riddick's; therefore Riddick's future is still unknown.  Genetics continues to follow Riddick's case and continues to research other cases to try to obtain any new information out there that might be helpful.
